I for one would love to see the government exit all aspects of ag. It would put things on a level playing field. The ones that love to farm would remain. The ones in it for the income would find a less risky vocation. Rent would have to be based more on share crop.
However, as long as there are special interest groups lobbying politicians, there will be subsidies. It is their way if controlling the land use.
As long as there are payments there will be that one guy down the road willing to take that payment. That in turn starts the unfair playing field cycle.
So instead of just complaining please give some constructive ideas on how to break the cycle if you can. | |
