| A friend and I were talking about that, actually: How much of the increase is due to new testing. I surmised that since the majority of cases are asymptomatic that even with an increase in testing the number of hospital visits and deaths should remain largely the same.
Looking at the data here:

So starting in early June we've seen the resurgence in number of new cases per day. However, the number of deaths per day has generally trended down with exception to whatever the heck was up with the 27th. Unfortunately I think we need to wait another week to see what the death numbers do as they should be delayed, but my initial impression is that I could very well be wrong. | |
