Subject: RE: Shipping semen

West Central Iowa
You'll need one of you to find a dry vapor shipper. It's a small vessel that is rated at 3-4 liters, and has a "media" in the tank that absorbs the nitrogen to maintain the correct temperature in the absence of the liquid itself. Most are rated around three weeks of hold time when charged correctly. Often times local collection facilities offer services to help people ship semen/embryos.

Edit: We have typically used UPS, FedEx, and even Speedee I believe. The key is it has to be a vapor shipper. Shipping a typical tank that contains liquid nitrogen in the liquid state makes it hazardous, which is very expensive, or some shippers refuse all together.
