PrecisionNE - 6/10/2020 08:36 Well, the problem with the blame game is that SOME Gen4 data works and SOME doesn't. I work for a Deere dealer as well, so I admit that I have more resources than many individuals working with SMS. You can't definitively say that it's an SMS update issue as some Gen4 data works. I am current with the SMS version as well. We have about 6 growers data that does not work. I have tried both manual export from the display and reading directly into SMS as well as downloading the data from JDOC as a zip and extracting everything and reading into SMS. Trying to find the common factor that is causing the issue for these growers is difficult. I even began tracking Gen4 display software version, planter model, planter year, SeedStar version and software version for planters. This still has not shown an exact common cause. I'm still working on the issue as we speak.

I don't have a dog in this fight but one thing I have noticed over the years of working with Deere precision hardware and software is that nomenclature is a factor. I had farm/field names that worked in JD Office but when upgrading (that's funny as I still think JDO was better) to Apex, some farms/fields wouldn't transfer because Apex didn't like some of the names. It was usually special characters such as ' or & or , or name length that JDO was fine with but for whatever reason Apex didn't like it. I had to edit some names to get them to transfer over. So that may be something else to look at.
