Subject: RE: CaseIh 5310 Strip tiller

McCanna, ND
We run two 16/30 5310s. I haven’t had any issues with the row cleaners binding, maybe they are wore out enough they can’t bind up. We did however make some 6 and 12” spacers to stagger the row cleaners to help with plugging issues. The other best thing we did was switch to 1 3/4 secondary hose with diffusers from 1 1/2” hose with no diffusers. With the 1 1/2” hose we could blow fertilizer out of the slot, and we would plug runs often. 1 3/4” hose we have no problems and the fertilizer stays at the bottom of the slot. We are flat here so not having independent shanks doesn’t matter, we get some implement drift on a few slopes but that’s due to the fact we run a TBT air cart. Very little spent in repairs, bar and everything has held up great so far.
