In my opinion, they have two major downfalls. First, the shanks are solid to the toolbar. The units can't float individually like a krause or an orthman. So in uneven terrain your depth wont be consistent. Which also means if one end is going deeper, that side will pull harder and so it wont pull straight throwing off your guess rows.

The other one is the row cleaners suck. The sunco parallel linkage just binds up instead of floating. So you have to set them like a rigid row cleaner. They don't clean the row well in a low spot or uneven terrain. The gladiator has a far superior row cleaner.
