If you are in western MB (your handle) you're looking for 4020 or is it 4010 forage peas.
If you can find some Trapper pea seed (variety from the early 80s that would be even better (that stuff would hit 6' tall!).
You will get excellent germination and stand if your soil temperature is over 15C - - - - if not and its a cool summer - - - Sorghum-sudangrass is NOT your friend.
You heat units are a little on the light side but SS does do better in low rainfall conditions (than corn).

IMO you might want to be looking for some hull-less barley and mix it with forage peas and push the stuff to the wall and cut for optimum quality - - - - you might be quite surprised on what you'll get!
