"If anything in the ingredient list on a product package ends in "ose"; Do NOT put it in your mouth!
I also have a non-specific memory of a video where it was stated that the LCHF-keto movement YouTubers have not escaped the notice of food ingredient manufacturers.
For example, it is fairly common for presenters on a less aggressive lchf path to say, "If sugar is one of the first three ingredients listed, don't eat it." If you are not aware, regulations dictate that ingredients be listed in order of weight.
In response product formulators will use three or more separate sources of sweetener such as cane sugar, corn syrup, and molasses (and there are a host of strange substances that end in "ose" in their arsenal) in order to push their appearance down the list. They are not taking this sitting down. | |
