It is hard to sell stuff that does not taste good. For most people that are used to eating lots of sugar, the added sugar in things like hams, sausage and other boxed processed foods is what makes it taste better. For those of us off the sugar we no longer need that addition to make the food taste good. So the mfg's are caught in the middle of making a product that tastes good for the majority of people without having to create two separate lines of product. But I think it is going to come to that. We are already seeing the "no sugar added" label like we have been used to seeing the "low fat, no fat" label. Now us low-carbers avoid the "low fat" label because we want the fat instead of the sugar. Times are a-changin. Just slowly. John |
