I can't really say that I know. I've heard the same as you have. It seems that not a great deal is known about it yet, however. The speculation right now is that the death rate might even be considerably lower than the flu - but, again, until there is more widespread testing for antibodies, we probably won't know. Again, neither the numerator nor the denominator is known yet. It certainly does look like the death rate has been greatly overestimated to this point, however. So far, it appears that this whole shut-down has been based on a lot of very questionable, if not downright faulty, information.

To me, it looks like, once again, we have mathematical model builders wanting to shut down the world economies based only on the flimsiest of evidence. And, not only science. Today's economics is based greatly on models too. Models that, looking at the problems we currently face, have been spectacularly wrong.
