How about a little basic diagnostic.
When it dies, pulls a plug wire and check for spark. Pull the air inlet hose and spray some carb spray in it and see if it runs. If it runs on carb spray, it is a fuel issue.
If not, it is a spark issue and proceed accordingly.

Am checking yet with CIH for a Carb for a IH 560, if they don't offer one does anyone else. This tractor as well is having issues, fuel goes to the carb, sediment bowl is full & clean, am burning ethanol, put a new coil on but have not replaced points & condenser for a couple of years but tractor really has not been run much, sits in the shed. Know carb is bad as the tractor has 9500 hrs -so maybe a new or newer one is in order. Would like to use now and then. |
