Subject: What would you do?

SW MN
Have a neighbor who did PP on a 100 acres last year so in August we seeded about 80#/acre of vns rye for him. It's looking really good right now and with the uncertainty looking forward for the corn and bean markets he's thinking of taking it to harvest. At this point he would put about 50-60# of urea on it and it would be good to go until combining. He owns the land and has a very low total investment in the crop. The market for rye for cover crop seed has been about $8.50-9.00/bu. Presently straw is worth a small fortune. I don't know what level of Federal crop insurance he has or his yields. He's trying to decide what to do.
