| I have found that storing corn a few months never pays. I do lots of hta in June and pay close attention to NC basis all summer long. if you can store corn until following June or July it may pay some years. The most reliable way to gain a few cents I have found is buy back corn at harvest lows and sell on a rally in December-February. Can repeat again in April and sell in June. No storage infrastructure to deal with and the gain is close enough to long term storage for me. Hold and hope worked good last year if you sold it all in June, but the mentality at that point was it's going even higher. This year storage definitely is going to be a huge loss. Storage helps during harvest, but those bushel should be sold when they go in | |
