I have been strip intercropping for 10 years or so. Running a John Deere 1790 12/24. Have Vdrive, Delta Force. Using 12 row corn head 30 platform. Plant 55K, 45K, 35K, 33K, 33K, 33K, 33K, 33K, 33K, 35K, 45K, 55K across the planter. I have been planting shorter season beans next to corn rows and lower populations. Those beans tend to stay green and lodge. Seeing 25 to 30 bushel more corn. Weed control more of a challenge. Volunteer corn some years is a challenge. I have enjoyed the challenge.
I have watched your fields for years along that major highway. I have stopped and sat in the driveway admiring them. Always wondered if you were feeding those outer rows more or are they all treated the same? How about fungicides, how do you handle that?
