PA closed rest stops, got a lot of flack and reopened some of them - in less than 24 hours. I think someone finally figured out it was safer to have truckers pulling into rest stops, than to have them pulling off along side the highway.
Some PennDOT rest areas and welcome centers statewide will be closed to the public effective 12:01 AM Tuesday, March 17, 2020. See below for a list of open locations. All reopened rest areas will return to normal service with additional cleaning and maintenance.
