South Central Iowa | Caught a groundhog by mistake in a live trap years ago while targeting coons (marshmallows as bait). Had a system. Pick up trap, carry trap out to pasture, open door, coon runs out, shoot. No blood in the trap. Well, caught a groundhog one morning. As we headed for the pasture that critter got his front paws out beside the door of the trap. He gripped the edge and yanked himself out, sprung the door and the side of the trap all to heck. Told you that to tell you this. A normal live trap isn't heavy enough. | |
