Companies routinely buy back stock when they think it is undervalued. It has been in the news lately, since the government does not want any of the govt. assistance dollars being used to buy back stock, they want it to benefit employees. Many companies with excess cash are in the process of buying back stock during this downturn if they are confident in their company. It can be a good indicator to watch.
