I disagree-its the ones at the check off that think they are helping-I pay my dues-and I do not agree-it falls on death ears
would like the government to realize that the monopoly is on the packer end-all the money in the world will not fix the problem on a cattleman's end
cattlemen are crying to the government to fix a problem they don't want to come up with a new solution to, anything the government gets involved in to fix will be a disaster, especially when the packers are coming in from the other side with their lobbyists. Time to reinvent the system from the cattleman's side or go find a new business to be in. Maybe take a day off and go visit Jim in the driftless region of Wisconsin and learn about a closed loop system where the consumer pays him direct for the end product. Otherwise, you get the choice to be the one filling the demand gap each week for the packer to top off their captive supply to meet the weekly slaughter demand. Work on that new slaughter plant or support the fed cattle exchange weekly auction, year round, not just when the market collapses. |
