Make sure you are going deep enough to get them in the ground. I have a rack of tractor weights on the back and set it 2.5 deep. As far as speed goes my hired hand and I are like the turtle and hair. He drives 4 mph and I drive 8 sometimes pushing 10 if a rain is coming. Have never seen any difference in the two speeds
