Have a small cowherd and having terrible time as calves are dropping this year. So far we have lost 5 calves and they appear to have either been stillborn or died shortly after birth having not moved. We do have two decent calves, and then another one we saved but it barely made it.
Called the vet, didn't have much info, said they haven't been hearing anything similar this year.
In the past, what type of things might be causing this?

I'm not diagnosing - - - - - giving you some possible ideas.
I would suggest being quite careful as to what you do with the deads and wear some gloves when you're handling them.
