Around here a clean chute is a funnel that goes in the door, and a tube of plastic that drops down the chute, to keep from having the silage build up on every step. When you move down to the next door, you cut the plastic off at the bottom, and get a new roll the next year. This is a different system that goes outside the climbing chute, but does the same thing.

Problem with those was unless one had one heck of a good blower, in haylege the silage would build up at the bottom of the funnel and plug the hole the silage needed to go down. Finally got sick of climbing to unplug that funnel and went back to getting really dirty when climbing the chute instead of just kinda dirty with the clean chute.
