Pittsburg, Kansas | I forget what I read about the amount you get from good sun exposure but I think it may have been in that range. It is a lot.
Northern lattitudes because of the angle of the sun through the atmosphere simply can not get enough in the winter. Even if a person were to run around naked in the sun, which most people would not do in the winter anyway. They stay covered up.
