Western-Central Lower Michigan | Wow, I hope you have back ups of any files or important things on that computer. Electronic stuff ages and has a fail rate. I have my fingers crossed for you.
How long before it shuts down, 5-7 minutes, might give you a chance to put stuff on a USB stick and pull the plug on that old machine.
That machine is about like depending on a 35 yr old tractor for your main "planter" tractor. Only difference is on a tractor you can replace filters, hoses and some wear parts. Computers are pretty much blow the dust "maybe you can replace a power supply" but when it is just so old, well, you should have replaced that quite a while ago.
One other thing, that little round battery on the mother board, if its never been changed, try that. Its a long shot though. |
