Michigan | Yes, looks like the pinion bearing was out and the bolt holding the yolk to the front axle pinion shaft came loose and that’s why it snapped the shaft off the transmission end. It’s a big job really, have to drop front axle to fix the pinion and it may well have screwed up the pinion and gear. For a dealer the $40,000 probably ain’t far off but if you are capable of doing it yourself it might be not too bad but if it’s not your thing it’s a pretty extensive repair. | |
