Now you also have a base line. If you have any calcium (anything other than zero) the disease has started. But now you can monitor it. In a few years get another scan. If the score is staying stable, you are in good shape. Stable reduces your risk to near the same as a zero score. But if your advancing 10% or more a year, problems ahead. Better get to work changing lifestyle and addressing the problem.
Even people with high scores, if they can slow the advance to a couple percent a year, their risk falls to nearly as low as a zero score. Stability of the plaque is the key. Accelerated growth of plaque is the danger.
