It almost looks to be roughed in for a tub shower combo?
I would just use what you have? Angle grinder with tile saw blade and big hammer would get the job done. When I was plumbing for a living we would have used a rotary hammer in a situation like that.
Does the floor have infloor heat ?

Edit to add it appears that it is not ready for the plumber, I would think the walls should be in first, awfully tough to frame around plumbing...
