We've had our desktop computer for at least 10 maybe 15 years. It came with Windows XP and has given relatively few problems. I liked the XP version and did not want to change but after a year and a half of refusing to go to Windows 10, it forced me into Windows 10. That was 3 years ago, I think.

Anyways, this summer it started having trouble loading pictures off my cell phone and game cameras. I can no longer download PDF files. That started a few months ago.

A guy at the coffee shop suggested I get a new computer with a SSD. I see there is a thread below about that. What are some RAM, speed, memory GB, whatever specs I need to go to shopping with. We use the computer for e mails, forums like AgTalk, and downloading and storing pictures, Also watch YouTube and get some news and stuff. No banking but we do order stuff online off the computer.

So, is it time for a new computer and what are some specs? Thanks

Unless you do something particularly demanding, most any computer you buy today will do more then you want it to. But if you buy one with a SSD, that will give more of a performance boost then any of the other specs.
