Fruita CO | I'd be real leery of used engines. On the "other" board a while back, there was a horror story from a guy who put 3 or 4 engines in a 9600 combine, kept getting bad ones from a salvage yard. I personally have tried used combine engines in JD loaders, twice, & got bit in the ass both times...like somebody else said, it's not that much more for a rebuilt. Combine engines will fit, but it's always a cobble-job...if the ol' girl has served you that well, she deserves a good fix...
