Subject: Dodge Mechanic's

southern Illinois
I had a 1996 dodge 2500 4x4. On this truck it had vac lines run to the front axle, I put small valves in line on these vacuum lines so I could run in low 4 wheel drive with out the front being engaged. This was nice for lots of applications on hard surfaces.
Now I have a 2002 2500 4x4 that I thought was just like the 96 but it doesnt have any vac lines to the front end. It dont have any lines electric or anything else. How do they engage the front end and how could I rig it not to engage when put in 4 wheel low? Or do the front ends turn all the time and engage only inside the tranfer case never freewheeling like the older ones?
Thanks for any info.
