In our area, most of the transplants are from the Miami area. High crime rates, no english speaking people, drive a lot of people out of there, especially at the peak of the housing bubble, when folks who bought houses for $30K some years ago were suddenly living in half million dollar homes.

I've been trying to start some citrus here at my place, since I moved down here. No luck, freezes get the young trees every year. I may try and start a few and built a mini greenhouse around each one so it can survive the Dec.-March freeze prone time.
