Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | I bought a new computer at Walmart some years ago just for the sake of having music in my shop. It did not have a CD drive either and the expectation was that I would use some free storage that they provided on the Internet. Problem for me was that I had no Internet connection in the shop.
As suggested I bought one of those backup USB drives. I plugged it into my home computer that had my music on it and literally copied thousands of songs from it to the new drive. I then plugged the new drive into the new cheap computer which plugged into an old Stereo system for music in the shop. This worked fine for a year or so but then apparently something happened to the operating system. I ended up discarding it since no one I knew could fix it. We tried reloading the operating system but it had some stripped down version that lived in RAM rather than on a hard disk
Next time I bought an older refurbished desktop model. The backup drive plugs into one of the many USB ports and works fine. |
