Two of ours have already bit the dust. One lasted about a month and then died. The last one, a Artec, lasted one week and lost half the channels. Rescanning doesn't help nor unplugging the elec. connection. The converter box shouldn't screw anything up on the DVD, you're only sending ,one way or the other, signals.
