WC ILL or on a HD on a road to 'somewhere'...
I got the email too. I was shocked & still feel at a huge loss.

I’ve been notilling since 1981. Of the influential people I’ve known in that time, connected to no till, Matt was near the top. Only Jim Kinsella, that I know, would rate higher.

Matt was honest. He wasn’t into sell it first, figure out what went wrong later. One of the first articles of his that read, I will remember forever. He’d said that of many questions he’d been asked about no tilling, his only answer could be ‘I don’t know..’. No sales pitch for a snake oil or voo doo dust. Just ‘I don’t know..’.

The thing about Matt was, what he didn’t know, he’d go to work & exhaust no effort of trying to figure it out. He didn’t take somebody else’s word for what worked ‘there’. He wanted to know why it wouldn’t work anywhere, but he was fully open to the fact that not every thing works every where, too.

I’d really counted on him as an honest friend. Even after I’d laid off posting here, I was still in contact with Matt. He’d pick my mind & I his.

I’m going to seriously miss that guy...
