Southeast WI | From the news report it was a freak thing. You know as well as I do when skiers at high levels continue on pursuing the sport many end up dying in some manner or another. It's the risk that's always there in any of these outdoor sports. As we've gotten older here we have dialed down where we ski. Self preservation kicks in. Some are such adrenalin junkies they can't do that. I suspect Matt was a very careful and calculating person and after a climb when something like a boulder under you breaks away and it's over. So sad. Condolences to his family. NAT lost another good one. | |
