Don’t tell that to all the cows around here that have survived off crp hay during our many droughts. Depends on what the mix is. If it’s intermediate grass and alfalfa it can keep stock cows just fine in early stages of pregnancy. If it’s tall wheat grass it’s pretty much straw.
