Tuscola, IL
I don't think there will be anything to regret. You'd have to get to a 60/7088 or 7010 to compare to a red combine. I don't know much about the green combines, but I don't think it would take too much convincing to trade our 1680 for a 9650. The bin size would be a huge plus. The only question I'd have is would it be worth whatever the cost is to gain the capacity? If you aren't going to get much more or any more done in a day, is it worth the cost? Still don't think you'll ever regret it because a 9650 would be a much nicer machine to spend the day in. You'd have to trade heads at this point even to stay with a red combine so that would be a wash. I'm not in the camp that says 'more electronics means more breakdowns', but that is something to consider also. As long as the 1680 has 12 volts, it pretty much runs. There will be a day something won't work because of a crazy alarm or fault code, but that's every color machine.
