Your first sentence is absolutely the correct answer. You have no idea how many believe otherwise. "it just protects the potential that is there". Part of the protection is that many times the plant health helps it stand completely and perfectly (well almost) intact. How many dollars is the harvestability worth? Ill guess with ya'.
