NNW Nebraska
I plant corn on waas, but using a fm750 & ezey pilot.

Since I am in the center of united states, possibly my signal is better than some. Only time I have noticed drift is when stopped for a long period of time, but not always then.

Same unit on a different tractor to spray, using it as a light bar. I overlap 2 or 3 ft to make sure I dont miss any. Part of it is no terrain correction so the light bar moves as the tractor leans.

Only way I would recomend planting via light bar would be using markers & using gps to help see the mark.

By all means get a system that you can update to gps steering. Should also get one that can use correction signals, such as trimbles rtx.

I started using one of the first Trimble light bars made. It was no where near as accurate as my present system.

Using it as a light bar, I watch the coverage map about as much as the light bar, so no way would i recommend a system that don't paint coverage on the screen.
