I thought of that same thing today Mark.  It's getting rarer to see rows planted without it or people are getting a lot better at driving.  My grandson wants to plant without it so he got to with my grain drill but even it isn't too hard as I just use the marker  to find the correct row and then follow the row across the field so I can drill between the rows.
