Exactly. Does calling it a community park make it a community park even it it isn't owned by the "community"?
That’s the million $$ question. Most of the old folks that built the park, rather it was their time or money donated, are questioning this. Up until the last ten yrs there was not a paid membership. For awhile the joke around town was, if you wanted a new pickup just join the park membership and get on the board. Then you would have a new truck within 6 months.
If you ask any park member yes it is a community park. Over the last several yrs people would go there and sit at the tables and eat lunch. If you did this more than 2 times you got told that you had to start paying to use a table. I.e rent eating area. |
