North of London | Always a missed opportunity when old things are just destroyed without at least a check for interesting items.
We have deeds and mortgage papers for the farm we live on going right back to a parchment title for the property from the Crown before Canada was even a country.
So these were passed on to us when we purchased the place 50 years ago. Other properties we bought we never got anything except the new legal documents then a few years ago friends were selling their property and asked us what we thought they should do as they had old papers from way back that had been given to them by the former owner and they wanted to pass on to new owner but lawyer was advising them to destroy them.
We told them that they would have to decide but we hated to see them destroyed.
Never heard what they did but think they were leaning to passing them on. | |
