SW “Ohia”
Galaxie64,

Not completely true. I’ve bought plenty of rust free trucks out of Tennessee and Georgia. That is my preferred area just because of geography and condition. Coastal areas of the Atlantic/Gulf are hit or miss; be very careful.

I’ve also seen some absolute rust buckets from the higher elevation regions in the West because of their Magnsieim Chloride use.

To the OP, it seems that the coastal Pacific Northwest has a lot of decent 1970’s era trucks. The desert southwest is usually rust free but the sun is very hard on interiors and paint.

For some reason it is pretty hard to find regular cab trucks in the southeast, southwest, or northwest. Crew cabs outnumber them by a huge margin, just FYI.
