Subject: RE: Time to retire the Kingsford charcoal

NC Iowa
I have a vintage webber kettle grill, and it seems like kingsford will lose its heat before the steaks are done. it starts out plenty hot, but loses it about the time to turn them. I am not sure if There is a special procedure for the kettle grill, or the kingsford charcoal is at fault.

Do you think lump charcoal would burn longer or hotter?
