Find some old, 14.25 inch diameter disc openers and put one on each row. With one smaller DO, it will keep the mud from going in between the openers and plugging them, one newish one (14.75 to 15") and one smaller one will work like offset disc openers. We did this in '93 and were one of the three in our area that got it all planted. Found this out the hard way, had a bearing go out and put a new opener on that side. That row seldom to never plugged,as, compared to the rest of the planter. And only use the disc openers, no cleaners or coulters to bring up slime from lower down.
