West Central MN (between MMF and Larson's) | There’s nothing like coming over the hill on I 35 and dropping into Duluth Harbor. It’s like you have entered a new world. You really do need to do it.
Canal park can be challenging during peak season, but it’s still really neat be that close to the big ships and the lift bridge.
Last time we were there a couple years ago we took the vista fleet tour to see some of the boats in the Harbor. They take you out into the Lake then back through the channel under the lift bridge. While we were out one of the big boats came in and we followed them back in.
Edit to add: we’re going back this summer but going to spend more time up the shore. We try to go at least once every 3-4 years
