Neighbor broke some studs while removing the manifold on his Cummins, he bought a purpose built guide that bolts on in place of the manifold and uses a guide with depth stops to drill out the broken studs. He said it was simple and relatively quick although the guide cost about $600. He is keeping it while the Cummins powered truck is on the road and until he gets another Cat powered truck.
