Find an 05 and up acert engine in need of an OH. they are 15.2 liters instead of 14.6, and the lower end is considerably stronger. Have your builder install 6nz injectors, cam, ecm, and a good single turbo.

Yep. Stronger crank, stronger block than your 5ek. 4 bolt rods/caps on the Acert. And either mill the piston bowls to lower the compression on your stock Acert 18 to 1 compression pistons, or put the industrial (Acert) 16 to 1 pistons in it when you rebuild it. Lowering the compression will get you longer headgasket life when you "de Acert" your C15 Acert donor engine.

A good running used 6nz or later 3406E would also make.a good "drop in" engine for less $$$. Stronger block than your 5ek if you want to build some good power. But then you're rolling the dice on the used engine.
