The last two GM trucks I’ve had I’ve used the trip as the gas gauge. Between 250 and 300 it gets filled up. 1999 and 2003. 34 gallon tank and around the 1/4 mark I put in around 33 gallons on both of them.
I had a 1990 Ford F-350 that did the classic Ford stay on full for a long time, bounce around in the middle a little bit and then drop straight to E. Basically I had about 50 miles to put gas in it after it moved off of full.
