West Central Iowa | Worn range shift linkage is a common problem on that series of IH tractor. I don't think your problem is just the worn lever pin. My experience is that the wear is usually not concentrated in one spot, but is a "little bit" of wear in a whole bunch of locations, starting at the shift lever and ending down inside the range cover. The fix is to have someone that is familiar with this setup OH it. Sometimes you can pick several of the most worn locations and improve it enough to get by. The 3/8" linkage pins can be replaced with 10MM pins. I have a 10MM hand reamer to bore out the worn 3/8" holes in the levers and yokes. Other parts are available aftermarket. | |
