S Illinois | The bulk of the difference between planted corn acres and harvested is silage which is somewhat consistent unless drought reduces the crop and more silage is cut due to lack of possible grain yield and lowered silage yields. The last few years it's been running between 6 and 7 million acres. So actual non-harvest/misc/abandoned corn plantings of any type is only around 1.5 million acres. It's a pretty linear relationship so that any corn acre not planted to corn pretty well flows directly into a non-harvested corn acre. If we drop planting by 2 million, harvested will drop by a similar amount.
